The edge of the universe

The universe is mind-threateningly large – so large that ‘it’ disturbs our categories of size and our predispositions to measure things. And yet, our best sciences tell us it exploded into place eons ago, and is thus finite. Some intriguing questions emerge: where is the edge of the universe, and what lies beyond it? I have often wondered about what dwells outside the boundaries of the universe: perhaps, a Realm of White, a monoverse without form or space or time or thought. On the other hand, in a queer sense, we will never find the edge of the universe – for immediately we look, a new universe pops into place. And in that moment we become infinite.
